1. SENIOR POWERTRAIN SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Job Summary

The Senior Powertrain Systems Engineer is responsible for directing powertrain project activities through application of proficient technical knowledge and leadership competencies. The span of powertrain projects responsibly includes initial gathering of the voice of the customer performance requirements, product definition, product design, product development, manufacturing support and product launch.

Key Functions

  1. Provide project leadership, mentoring, and training for new or junior-level powertrain engineers on design and development processes, software, procedures, specifications, etc;
  2. Guide reviews and reports on engineering metrics and/or test results through engineering reports and written correspondence to ensure timely and effective communication with supervisors and colleagues;
  3. Conduct Design, development, and failure analysis through the use of DFMEA, customer returns, or specific development projects;
  4. Support the implementation of design changes to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization through analysis of designs and problem solving techniques;
  5. Provide technical guidance to engineering personnel on various powertrain systems and makes presentations to internal and external customers on different programs or products as required;
  6. Develop the necessary documentation relating to the development of powertrain systems;
  7. Mentor and train other technical support staff on technical and procedural matters; and
  8. Any other duties assigned by the Powertrain & EE systems Manager

Person Specifications:

  Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Electrical Engineering or Related Field from a recognized Institution;
  2. Must be a registered Engineer by a recognized professional body; and
  3. Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Engineering/Operations Management or Related Field from a recognized Institution is an added advantage.

 Experience (Minimum Requirements)

General working experience of at least four (4) years; two (2) of which should have been served in a Powertrain Systems Engineer Position in a reputable organization preferably in the automotive industry

  Competencies

(i) Technical

  • Familiar with powertrain systems, powertrain configurations (ICE, Hybrid, EV) related regulations, requirements, design and release;
  • Background of powertrain system design and validation, including durability, NVH and all functional requirements;
  • Acquainted with system functions such as NVH/CFD/FEA, Chassis and Body etc;
  • Knowledge of FMECA/FMEA, FEA, EPL’s, OEM Engineering Release Process, QS9000; and
  • Strong Background in Vehicle Electrification and alternative Vehicle Propulsions

2. SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER

Job Summary

The Senior Legal Officer of Kiira Motors Corporation shall be responsible for providing legal advice and opinions and drafting legal documents. The Senior Legal Officer shall also assist in preparing the work plans and budgets of the Legal Division.

Key Functions

  1. Represent Kiira Motors Corporation’s legal interests and provide assurance of strong corporate governance and general legal housekeeping before investors, partners and co-partners, regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, auditors, and trade groups;
  2. Provide prompt commercial, practical legal advice to Kiira Motors Corporation’s various business lines to facilitate, improve and strengthen operational decision-making through integration of legal analysis as part of overall business development process;
  3. Responsible for contracts and commercial agreements, finance, governance, real estate, intellectual property, employment and litigation/adversarial proceedings and Directs Outsourced counsel as needed;
  4. Provide Executive Management with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function, and obtains and coordinates the work of any outsourced legal counsel;
  5. Ensures Kiira Motors Corporation Compliance with regulatory and compliance protocols, current and anticipated, and at all levels;
  6. Identify current and upcoming legal, regulatory and related compliance risk and determine how Kiira Motors Corporation can offer its products and services in various jurisdictions while operating in compliance with local laws and regulations;
  7. Support Business Development on commercial negotiations;
  8. Support HR and Finance on Human Resources matters (e.g., employee agreements, consulting agreements, employee benefits, stock options, and other employment issues);
  9. Review and draft contracts, policies, compensation plans, and the Kiira Motors Corporation Human Resources Handbook as needed;
  10. Provide legal advice on issues affecting existing and future business where risks and mitigation strategies are clearly identified;
  11. Collect, organize, and present market intelligence on the legal issues affecting the Company’s core business.
  12. Represent the company in dealings with other companies, banks and shareholders; and
  13. Any other duties assigned by the Director Operations.

Person Specifications:

  Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Law from a Recognized Institution;
  2. An Advocate of the High Court of Uganda;
  3. Valid Certificate of Legal Practice;
  4. Master’s Degree in Law (LLM-Preferably International Commercial Law), Business Administration (MBA) or in a Related Field from a Recognized Institution is an added advantage

 Experience (Minimum Requirements)

Working Experience of at Least Four (4) Years in Legal Practice, two (2) of which should have been Served at the Level of Legal Officer in a Reputable Organization.

3. ACCOUTANT

Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for providing financial and accounting services to Kiira Motors Corporation.

Key Functions

  1. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information;
  2. Document financial transactions by entering account information;
  3. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options;
  4. Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports;
  5. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents;
  6. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures;
  7. Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions;
  8. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
  9. Secure financial information by completing data base backups;
  10. Maintain financial security by following internal controls;
  11. Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements;
  12. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations;
  13. Compile financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions;
  14. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends;
  15. Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential;

Person Specifications:

  Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Finance, Accounting or related field from a recognized Institution; and
  2. Must be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda.

 Experience (Minimum Requirements)

Working experience of at least two (2) years as an Accountant in a reputable organization with current generation knowledge of IFRS, Uganda Tax Legislations, PFMA 2015, Companies Act 2012 and other Applicable Laws.
